Indigo Reports 20% Growth of Annual Turnover

New Posts Planned to Sustain Further Growth

Indigo Technologies (Indigo), an Aberdeen-based information technology specialist, today (insert date) reports a 20% growth in turnover, achieving  £550,000 for the period April 2009 - March 2010.  Indigo has sustained year on year growth since it was founded in 2005, with the most recent increase resulting from the company doubling its client base to 100 last year. This rapid rise in business levels also led to a growth in employee numbers, bringing the headcount to six full-time staff members.  This number is set to increase further this year, with the creation of two new engineer posts.

Significant contract wins last year, such as chartered accountants Simpson Forsyth, Scomi Oilfield Services, Freelance World and Endeavour Energy UK, were a result of Indigo’s strategy of offering unique services. These include a one-hour crisis response service, not tying clients into long-term contracts, and the team’s specialist training in niche areas such as virtualisation solutions.

Sean Thomson, director at Indigo, says, “The latest financial results put Indigo in a strong position for further growth in the coming year as we plan to reinvest profits back into the company. In doing this we will achieve our long term growth plan - strengthening the team by creating two new engineer posts this year, as well as continued investment in training staff in specialist areas.  To aid further development of the business, we plan to invest in new, larger premises within the next 12 months.

“Investment in new technology will also play a key role in maintaining our competitive advantage. Last year we invested in a new CRM system to further develop our customer service programme, and we have recently invested in service management software to improve efficiency.

Indigo is believed to be the first company in the UK to gain Microsoft’s Virtualisation competency when it was launched last year. Microsoft awarded Indigo £1,500 to use in marketing materials to promote this niche expertise as well as undertaking several case studies on virtualisation projects carried out by Indigo.
