Indigo Scoops Two Prestigious Award Nominations

Aberdeen based IT specialist, Indigo Technologies (Indigo) has scooped two award nominations in the prestigious 2010 Northern Star Awards. Indigo is one of three finalists in the Excellence in Customer Service and the Commitment to People Development categories. The winners of the awards will be announced in Aberdeen on Thursday, 23 September.

“These awards are judged by an independent panel of highly respected business leaders,” says Sean Thomson, director at Indigo. “To be shortlisted for these two highly competitive categories is a significant achievement for the whole team and demonstrates a consistently high standard of work across the company.”

The Excellence in Customer Service Award recognises companies who can consistently deliver outstanding customer service, while the Commitment to People Development is awarded to companies that invest in developing its staff through skills and personal development, achievement programmes and outcomes.

Sean adds, “Indigo has built a strong reputation on the basis of its customer service which has been core to the success of the company. The investment in our staff is a key contributor to this.”

“We actively seek out training opportunities in areas in which our staff can become specialists to give us a competitive edge. We also react quickly to new technology and changes in the industry, training our staff in the latest products as they hit the market. Being finalists in the Northern Star Awards will help to further strengthen the reputation of Indigo as a leading IT specialist not only across the north east but in Scotland too.”

Indigo recently reported a 20% growth in turnover, achieving £550,000 for the period April 2009 – March 2010.  The company has sustained year on year growth since it was founded in 2005, with the most recent increase resulting from the company doubling its client base to 100 last year. This rapid rise in business levels also led to a growth in employee numbers, bringing the headcount to six full-time staff members.  This number is set to increase further this year, with the creation of two new engineer posts.
