29 August 2007:Grampian IT specialists, Indigo, moves into larger premises to accommodate growth
Successful young business seeks new staff as it achieves VMWare’s coveted VIP Enterprise Partner status
Indigo, the Aberdeen-based information technology (IT) specialist set up in 2005, has moved into bigger premises as it forges ahead recruiting further staff. And it has achieved US IT specialist, VMWare’s VIP Enterprise Partner status, one of only two such IT companies in Aberdeen.
Founders Sean Thomson and Dave Senior, who set up Indigo together, have found that business has grown even faster than anticipated.
‘The IT sector is pretty busy in Aberdeen right now,’ says Sean Thomson, ‘and with a number of new clients we were bursting at the seams in our old office, so we have relocated from our Regent Quay office to new premises at 2 Queens Lane North, where there is the space we need as we expand.’
Indigo offers round the clock technical support, IT advice and consultancy, disaster recovery and business continuity, IT security services, hardware & software advice and implementation, web development, and maintenance. As IT and telephony come together in the new Voice over IP technology, Indigo also has ambitious plans for supporting its clients in both these spheres.
‘Indigo’s staff of five will probably double this year, so we now have the space for additional personnel and are actively recruiting specialist IT engineers,’ says Sean. ‘We are also delighted to have achieved VIP Enterprise Partner status with US global IT giant, VMWare, which is a significant accreditation for us. It reflects our 10 years of valuable experience with virtualisation and complementary disaster recovery products.
‘A major growth area for Indigo has been disaster recovery planning, as the cost of secure backup and recovery has dropped considerably in the last couple of years. We feel that no company can afford to take risks with its IT systems and that a proactive, preventative approach is more cost effective than reacting to a failure when it occurs.
‘Companies often put their communications systems in the basement of their building, which can be a risk,’ says Sean. ‘We have saved a couple of clients from flood disaster due to the recent wet weather. Our virtualisation software has proven to be a real winner for several companies in Grampian.’ |
