Indigo Reports Successful Results for First Half of Financial Year

Indigo Technologies is celebrating a successful first half of the financial year having secured six new contracts with a total value of almost £150,000 further strengthening their position as a leading IT specialist in the North East. Among the recent contract wins are a number of major IT Infrastructure projects for companies including Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, AquaTerra and Iona Energy.

The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) contract is in addition to the ongoing technical support that Indigo has provided the conference venue since 2006. For this latest project Indigo has refreshed the AECC’s aging IT infrastructure. This included refreshing hardware and implementing desktop visualisation resulting in a substantial energy efficiency and cost savings for the company.  Vitally, Indigo were able to seamless update the systems, with minimal downtime and disruption to the centres daily activities, completing the project in just five days.

The second contract involved planning and installing a new IT infrastructure for the expanding energy industry service provider AquaTerra, who recently relocated to larger premises in Kintore.  Indigo worked with the client to identify and predict the growing company’s future IT requirements to ensure the solution installed would meet the company’s needs for many years to come.

Indigo also assisted Canadian oil and gas company, Iona Energy, with their office relocation. The company required larger premises to facilitate its growing presence in Aberdeen, which needed to be supported by increased IT capabilities. As with AquaTerra, Indigo designed an IT strategy based on an expandable approach to allow the system to improve the IT capabilities, encompassing email and online hosting, and support future expansion.

Director of Indigo Technologies, Sean Thomson, commented: “These recent contract wins are integral to our growth going forward. 2011 is already proving to be a particularly successful year with almost £150,000 worth of new business having been secured. This along with our current contracts see our six month turnover figures reaching more than £350,000, which puts us on track to achieving our annual projected turnover of £725,000.

“Indigo has concentrated on becoming a specialist in support, virtualisation and cloud computing, a strategy which seems to be paying off.  Within these core competencies we can offer more than one solution allowing us to provide non-biased advice.

“Indigo has been in business for over six years and has experienced continued steady growth during this period.  We believe our success is a result of having secured an excellent reputation for customer service and continuing to be at the forefront of the industry. We heavily invest in staff training and IT systems which will give us a competitive edge, such as having what is believed to be the only qualified licensing specialist based in Aberdeen.”

Founded in 2005, Indigo is a leading information technology specialist and provides a comprehensive range of IT support and server virtualisation services to small, medium and large businesses throughout the Aberdeen area. Indigo scooped the ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ award at the 7th annual Northern Star Business Awards. Indigo is a Microsoft Gold and VMware Enterprise partner.
